Angela & Russ….
…knew of us already from her brother’s wedding, we feel that being invited back for another family wedding is the very best compliment we can get! We knew a Dalhousie Castle Wedding was going to be a spectacular occasion and that we would be spoilt for choice for photo locations.
When we arrived at her parents home to take some preparation photos we were impressed not only with our calm and beautiful bride but also with the gorgeous transport!
A full coach and horses to take Angela along the road to the historic Dalhousie Castle, what a treat to have this to photograph.
Angela had been nervous about choosing this rather weather dependant mode of transport but there were no worries as the day dawned bright and warm, ideal for an open-topped carriage arrival.
There was laughter and joy as Angela and Russ pledged their vows in the castle chapel, a wonderful vaulted space with all their friends and family around them.
It’s great to catch their expressions and happiness on camera, having two photographers lets us work without disturbing the ceremony at all.
Having met the family helped them to relax with us and to treat the photos as another enjoyable aspect of their wedding day. Even our group photo are a more about getting folk together and having some laughs and banter on the day rather than anything too formal.
As well as showering our bride and groom with confetti in the traditional way the extra leftover confetti was emptied ceremoniously over our bride’s head by her rather naughty bridesmaids, a drink or two may have been taken!
Angela and Russ took in a circuit of the castle in their fab carriage and we loved the photos with Angela, who loves horses taking a moment to pop down and pet these lovely creatures.

One of the best features of Dalhousie castle is its famous ceiling in the main entrance hall. This is so ornate and lovely and a great backdrop for wedding photos.
Our time at Dalhousie drew to a close with us there to catch the dancing and the traditional throwing of the bride’s bouquet.
Again this wedding showed its style, there was so much competition that one guest was knocked flying in the flurry of demand for this lucky bouquet.
Luckily no injuries were sustained and the dancing continued till the early hours….
